FAQ
For walk-up songs, yes. Music streams directly from Apple Music, so you'll need an active subscription. No Apple Music? Announcements still fire. Your kids still get their moment.
Six stadium-quality PA announcer voices: Big League Bill, Play by Play Pete, Ringside Randy, Dugout Donna, Coach Carlos (bilingual English/Spanish), and Squeaky Sam. Unlimited teams and players. A 7-day free trial, then $9.99/year. That's it. No hidden tiers, no per-feature unlocks. If you're running multiple teams or you want your kids to sound like they're walking up at a real ballpark, Premium is worth every penny.
Actually free. No timer, no watermark, no "upgrade to continue." We built a real working app for free users because not every family can justify another subscription, and every kid deserves a walk-up moment, regardless. One team, up to 12 players, walk-up music, between-innings playlist, Game Mode, the whole experience. It's not a taste. It's the thing. We've worked hard to make Premium worth your business, but if that's not in the budget right now, we hope the free mode gives your kid their moment. It's yours, free of charge, for as long as Walk-Up Hype is on the App Store.
Honest answer: the default free voice is rough. It works, but it sounds like a robot reading a spreadsheet. Here's the thing though: there's a second free voice called Minor League Mike that's a real step up. It's still free, just requires a one-time download in your iPhone's Accessibility settings. We walk you through it step by step here. If you want to actually impress parents on day one, Minor League Mike is the move. Premium is still the big leagues, 6 custom PA voices that sound like an actual stadium, but free isn't a dead end.
You tap "Collect Songs" on your team, and the app gives you a shareable link. Drop it in the group text. Each parent opens the link on their phone (no app install needed), searches Apple Music, picks a song, sets the start time, and even tells the announcer how to pronounce their kid's name. You see every submission in a review queue and approve or reject before it hits the roster. The whole thing is encrypted and auto-expires after 7 days.
We built this for real fields, and real fields have terrible cell service. Walk-Up Hype has a "Save for Offline" feature that pre-generates every announcement for your entire roster and caches it to your device before you leave the house. Pair that with songs downloaded in Apple Music and your whole game runs without a single bar of signal. Announcements fire, music kicks in, crowd goes wild. No Wi-Fi required.
Free is 1 team, up to 12 players. Plenty for a single squad. Premium is unlimited. Coach two teams? Run a whole league? Go for it.
You drop to the free tier automatically. All your data stays intact. Your teams, players, and announcements are still there. You just can't add a second team or add players beyond 12 until you resubscribe. Resubscribe and everything unlocks immediately.
